While surgeons are saving lives, and engineers are building countries, Matt Barrie decided talking a lot would be his contribution to society. A sports enthusiast, Matt believes in a simple philosophy: have fun.
In addition to his radio duties, Matt is a sports anchor and reporter at NBC5, traveling with the Cowboys during the season. He’s covered just about every region of the country during his ten-year TV and radio career (except the northeast-which is just fine with him). And if his bosses don’t fire him, he’d like to stay in Dallas for a while. Feel free to argue, laugh, or maybe even agree with Matt. Remember, it’s not brain surgery.
Ted Emrich
Ted's dad, 1080 KRLD's Roger Emrich, always told him to go into TV. Ted didn't listen. He's now the studio anchor on the Longhorn Sports Network for UT football and men's basketball broadcasts. Ted is also a reporter/anchor for 1080 KRLD and is the play-by-play voice of McKinney ISD sports on 97.5 KLAK. His first steady on-air position came at 16 on the Texas State Network. For five seasons, Ted and Roger co-hosted "Texas Football Weekly." During that time, Ted was also busy on Friday nights as the studio anchor for Metro Sports Communications' play-by-play coverage of Southlake Carroll high school football.
Ted graduated from the University of North Texas in 2009, and he's proud to have been a student in Bill Mercer's final sports broadcasting class. Ted worked a 2008 summer news internship at WFAA-TV and was glad it involved more than fetching coffee.
