Ben and Skin have built a reputation as two guys who occasionally appear on the radio.  Their unique brand of crime-infused "dramedy" thrives due to the rapport they've developed during the past quarter century of friendship.  Not to mention their willingness to rock a fake mustache for no apparent reason.  And they love charity.

The Ben and Skin "brand," as those of us in the bio-writing business like to call it, has also scored the occasional TV special on KTXA 21 over the years (to that end they'd like to thank Steve Mauldin and Gary Schneider for being awesome). But most of the blame for Ben and Skin's curious presence in the murky shadows of the local media scene can be placed at the feet of the great Rick Mills, who gave these clowns their start at KSTR 49 back in the day because they were inexpensive, reasonably priced and free.  Their willingness to cha-cha with the good kids over at Belo has birthed a Wednesday humor column in Quick called Hot Potato Salad that defies humor.  (D Magazine just awarded these boys Best Columnists in their recent Best of D issue)  You can also dig their sexy mojo at the Boogie Spot, a hip-hop and basketball blog found at QuickDFW.com.  Did we mention the charity stuff?

Ben Rogers is a bendy, plus-sized model for Regular Haircut but Fat Guy Magazine, a chronic over-introducer and someone who firmly believes that Bigfoot is a wookie. At posh social gatherings, he often beats everyone down with outrageous claims that he can communicate with hammerhead sharks and effectively pick up chicks with nothing more than science.  He's happily married to a remarkable woman with great patience and poor vision, and together, they are raising two extremely awesome little dudes who they refer to as their "children."  White people know him best for creating the 90's throwback-style hip hop project, the Coffee Nods, which somewhat recently released a full-length hip hop album entitled Grown: Rap Music for Grown Ups.  In his spare time, Rogers enjoys reading the great American classics, building hand-crafted wooden boats and winning triathlons.

When not engaging in buffoonery with Big Ben, Skin serves as creative director for EhkoMusic, which is the production company behind First Com's Velocity Music Library. He has co-produced music that has been used in campaigns for the likes of Nike and Scion, television programs like American Idol and The Chris Rock Show, and films like EDTV, Stop the Presses, Inside the Circle and Roger Dodger.  Along with Ruben Ayala, he's one half of the Hydroponic Sound System production duo. He's also a failed journalist who writes a weekly hip-hop column for Quick called The Sure Shot.  He has a wife and two kids who are generally humiliated by his failings and most recently they've started referring to him as a distant "uncle." Sometimes they dress up as Ben's family and pretend that things are better.

And of course, charity.
